I am Three Months old TODAY!

So I am finally Three Months Old- I am no longer a newborn, today I am offically an infant! I have been so busy growing and learning that I haven't found time to blog. So to make up for that I will give you a brief rundown on what I have been up to over the last few weeks.

I had my first flight ever and we went to Dallas to visit Aunt Kristie and Uncle Josh. I was a very good traveler and went to sleep as soon as the plane took off. Mommy and Daddy were so proud of me. It was so much fun in Dallas. Daddy got to live out a life long dream and see the Dallas Cowboys play on Thanksgiving. Even more exciting than that was I found out that I will be getting another cousin. We are expecting Baby Botts in early July! I can't wait!
I also got to meet my Uncle Andy for the first time. He is so much fun, he carried me all around and made funny faces and even stepped up to babysit me while everyone went out shopping. Here are a few pictures from the trip-

After we got back from Texas we only had a few days to prepare for Grami Tami's visit. I was so lucky to get to see her two weeks in a row. We had fun while she was in Pennsylvania. She read me lots of books and helped Mommy make lots of yummy food. I also got to visit Santa while Grami was it town. It was a fun visit.

After Grami left we only had one week to get ready for our next big trip to Minnesota. Mommy and I flew out all by ourselves so that we could have some extra time with Grandmeres and Grandperes. We got here on Monday and it was 9 degrees BELOW zero. That was the coldest I had ever felt but I was sure to bundle up. It is so warm and cozy and Grandma and Grandpas and I am having a great time playing with them. I got to meet my uncle Chris and my Aunt Laura for the first time and I got to see their new house. I even got to meet my Great Grandma Marcella and my Great Auntie Marcia and Uncle Dave. It has been so much fun here so far and I cannot wait until next week when my Daddy flies out and I will get to meet my cousin SoLace in person! Here are a few more pictures- As always I will add all of my pictures to my web albums-

Love to you all-

My first snow-

Hello All- quick update for you on my weekend before I head out to Dallas tomorrow for Turkey Day. It SNOWED this weekend! Apparently it isn't supposed to do that for at least another month but it snowed none the less. Mommy got me all bundled up so that I could play in it but I did not like to be out in that cold white stuff. Here are a few pictures of my adventures.

I survived my two month check-up!

So I am 2 months old now so I had to go check in with my Doctor, Dr. Jo, to see how I had grown.

So here are my Stats-

  • 9 weeks and 1 day old
  • Weight- 12lbs 1.5 oz- 75th percentile
  • Length- 22 3/4 inches- 75th percentile
  • Head- 38.4 cm- 50th percentile

So I guess the Chunky Monkey nickname Mommy has been calling my does not apply as much as she thought! Dr. Jo also said that she thought that I was progressing very nicely. I am now tracking things with my eyes and she was very impressed that I was sleeping through the night ( most nights ) and that I already rolled over from my tummy to my back ( I am not supposed to be able to do that for another whole month yet!) I also decided to show her both my smile and my vernacular of goos and coos- she was very impressed.

After the doctor left the nurse came back and stuck me with three different shots! Mommy was much more nervous than I was. I took them like a champ. I cried a little when I got the shots but I was a big girl and calmed right down afterwards, and I did get some band-aids that matched my outfit so that was a bonus. I think I will just sleep a little extra tonight until I feel all better. Mom is happy that I have had these shots to protect me on my very first flight that I am taking next week. That is right- I am headed to Dallas for Thanksgiving to see Auntie Kristie and Uncle J, Grami and Grandpa and meet my Uncle Andy. I can't wait!! I will make sure to update you all on how it goes next week. Love you all!

My very busy week- in pictures

So I am 2 months old today! That is right 62 whole days and the last 7 have been super busy. Here is what I have been up to.

I had GREAT a visit from my GREAT Aunt Becky- she came all the way from Arizona. That's the furthest visitor yet! It was so fun to have her here. I got to help make a special dinner for her birthday. We hope to go to AZ to visit her this Spring!

While Aunt Becky was here Mommy and Daddy and I got our pictures taken by some professional people. I was a very good girl and tried to show them my best smile. Here are some of my best pictures

I also had my 8 week birthday and celebrated with a Hershey Bar

So that was my busy week- I hope you had a great one! As always Mommy has uploaded all of my recent pictures and my professional ones to my web album. Love you all- Hope to Skype with you soon!

My First Halloween

Hello Everyone-
I am just getting over the excitement of last week so I thought I would fill you in on it. Last week my Aunt Meaghan came to visit me from Colorado. Okay she isn't my real aunt but she and Mommy have been friends since they were in 5th grade. That is a long time! While she was here we did some fun things. I got to ride the chocolate ride at Chocolate world, and I got to go to my first big mall shopping trip in Baltimore ( I think there might be many more in my future if Mommy has her way.) I tried my best not to yell too much while she was here- I am hoping to get a new friend out of the deal. No luck yet.

It was also Halloween while Aunt Meggie was here. Mommy and Daddy told me this was a great holiday where little ones dress up and go around the neighborhood and ask for candy. I got to meet many of the kids in our neighborhood as they came by to pick up their King Size Reese's. They all looked pretty excited. I can't wait until I can get candy next year. I did get to dress up this year though. I had three different outfits. I was the Cat in the Hat- (I love that book,) a pumpkin and a Lady Bug. I got to wear my costumes to Daddy's office and meet all of his nice coworkers and even the BIG Kiss. It was so fun, even Mommy dressed up- she was my Mummy. She thought it was pretty funny but I didn't get it.

In other news, I turned 6 weeks old right before Halloween. Because I am becoming such a big girl I decided that I would give Mommy a break and sleep all the way through the night. That is right -I slept 7 and a half hours straight, without even a snack. It felt good but I don't think I will do it every night just yet. I did it again last night though. I like to keep Mommy and Daddy on their toes. I am also smiling and cooing more, especially in the morning. Mommy is trying to get me on video so stay tuned for that.

Well that was my week- check out all of my many halloween costumes in my new photo album. Love you all and I will to you soon!

Sunday Traditions-

So today is Sunday and I got to experience one of Daddy's favorite things today- The Dallas Cowboys! They were not on the T.V. at home today so Daddy met some friends at a restaurant with BIG T.V.'s that were playing the game. Naturally I had to find an outfit for the occasion and Auntie Sos had sent me just the right one! I think I was good luck for the team because they won their game 13-9 against Tampa Bay even without Tony Romo. I was ready to step in as quarterback if they needed me.

Love you all- Emma
Ps. Mommy added more pictures to my site- check them out!

The five week blues

I am five weeks and two days old today! I have been growing so much lately- so much that Mommy thinks I am going through a growth spurt. Both Mommy and Daddy have weighed me on the bathroom scale and I am already 11 pounds and 23 inches long! That puts me in the 90th percentile for height and the 75th for weight. It also means that I have been a little fussy lately. All I want to do all day is eat and every time I do I get a stomach ache. Everything Mommy has read says that this should pass soon but I think I will keep crying for now. Sometimes it just feel good to cry!

In other news I acquired a new skill this week. I can sit up without Mommy or Daddy's help! Well to be honest I am sitting up with the help of my bumbo chair- it is a soft foam chair that supports my neck- and since I can hold my head up all on my own Mommy let me sit in it sometimes. It is tons of fun.

So that is what is going on with me this week. I love to hear about what you all are up to. Drop me a note or give a call any time. Talk to you soon! Love

The last few weeks

Hello Emma again-

Can you believe it I am 1 month old all ready! My mommy usually sends out an email for me every week but she claims that she has been so busy looking after me that she hasn't had time so I decided to give you a little update on what I have been up to since I was 2 weeks old.

I have been growing and getting stronger every day. Mommy and I try to get at least 15 minutes of tummy time in every day. This is where I lay on my stomach and try to hold my head up and push myself up on my arms. It seems to be working because I have been keeping my head up all by myself and I even rolled over from my tummy to my back when I was just 3 weeks 6 days old. I did it three times but I am over it already and I think I will wait a while before I do it again. All of these workouts is really helping my get strong though. Check out this video of me playing with Daddy.

I also had a visit from Grandma and Grandpa von Goertz. They were here for 10 whole days! We had fun going for walks and Skyping with my cousin SoLace and Auntie Sonja and Uncle Ryan every night. If you don't know what Skype is, it is a fun way to talk to people through the computer no matter how far away you are. All you need is a computer and a webcam and you are all set to Skype. We love to chat so let us know if you are up for it! Here are a few pictures from our week with G&G as well as an update on how I am growing with my weekly photos Mommy takes. I love you all- check back soon as I will be trying to update this site as often as possible!
