4 months old!

Hello everyone- Emma here. I have finally adjusted back to the east coast timezone and I have some news. I am now 4 MONTHS OLD! It is so exciting, I am learning and doing new things everyday. Here is a little update on what I have picked up over the last few months.

I can now hold my head up all by myself ( I have actually been doing this for a while but now I do it with confidence!) Since I can hold my head up I like to lay on my tummy and play and I can now go in my jumparoo and exersaucer. I am even getting much better at standing with just a little help from Mom or Dad.

I am also now sleeping in my very own bed. It was tough for Mommy and Daddy to give up having me near them when they were sleeping but I decided it was time. I go to bed between 10:30 and 11pm and I sleep until about 8 am when I wake up with a smile for Daddy.
At my doctor's appointment this week I learned that I have stayed in the 75% percentile for both my height and my weight. Mom thought for sure that I was a chunky monkey over 15 lbs but again she was wrong and I am a slim 14 1/2 lbs and 24 3/4 inches long. I also received my second round of shots and took them like a pro. Dr. Jo also cleared me for something else- trying REAL food!
I had my first meal of rice cereal on Sunday and I am not quite sure what I thought about it. Mom wasn't too sure that I actually got any in my mouth but I did get a taste of it. It's kind of strange but Daddy told me I have to keep eating it is I ever want to try his delicous Reese's.

Lastly- I get to do something very special next Sunday (besides watching my FIRST superbowl.) Mommy and Daddy are dedicating me to the Lord. For those of you not familar with dedication it is like a baptism but instead of putting water on my head Mommy and Daddy promise to raise me up knowing Jesus and then I get to make the choice when I want to get baptized. It is so exciting that Grandpa Robb is flying out to see it even during tax season. I can't wait!

So those are the highlights- hope you all have a great week!

A tale of two Christmas's

Hello! I am finally back from my whirlwind travel tour that took me on 5 airplanes and three different states. Mommy has told me that I was a good little traveler. In fact on of my flights one of my fellow fliers told me I should be a pilot because I was so good on the plane. Waiting in the airport is another story. I just get so excited to get where I am going. So here is a quick run down of what I was up to over the last month.

As you know I got to spend 2 weeks with Grandma and Grandpa von Goertz in Minnesota. It was so fun meeting all of Daddy's friends and family especially my cousin SoLace. I just know we are going to be best friends. Here are some of the highlights of the week

  • I attend the annual Knife River Sing-a-Long at G&G vG's. Over 60 people came to meet SoLace and me and to sing their favorite Christmas carols. This has been happening at Grandma's and Grandpas for over 20 years now- but something new this year were the eight little ones in attendance.

  • After all of that fun we got to celebrate Christmas eve at Great Auntie Marcia and Uncle Dave's. We had some wonderful food and read the Christmas story and sang some more Christmas carols. It was a great time!

  • After that on Christmas morning we went to Church and then to Daddy's godparent's Steve and Carol Carlson's. They had more wonderful food (someday I will get to eat it too) and Santa even showed up after a long night's work to say hello to all of us little ones.

  • Our last few days in MN we spent in Minneapolis at the first Annual George Swor after Christmas party at Great Auntie Kathy and Uncle Erling's. We has such a blast and even left with some fresh Lefsa!

After all the fun we had in Minnesota we continued on to sunny Colorado to see Grami and Grandpa Green at their new house. It was great to see my Mommy's immediate family again- that Uncle Andy is so funny and Aunt Kristie and Uncle Josh are going to give me another cousin soon, I love them so much. I also got to meet some other special people in my life

  • I first got to meet my Great Grandma and Grandpa Green. People tell me I look like Grandma Lou- what do you think? They were so much fun and made me laugh.

  • I also got to meet my Great, Great Grandma Tillie. She is going to be 100 years old in just a few weeks. She still lives by herself still and was even strong enough to lift my chubby monkey self up all by herself!

  • My Great Grandma and Grandpa Schopbach flew all the way from Arizona to meet me. They stayed with us for a few days and my Grandpa even made me laugh out loud. They are so funny!

  • My Grami threw a party for me while we were home and I got to meet some other GREAT people- like my Great Aunts and Uncles and Mommy's cousins. It was so nice to have everyone in one place at one time

  • Lastly, I got to see my Auntie Meggie again and I got to meet Aunt Steff and Aunt Aspen too. It was great to finally meet more of Mommy's friends

After meeting so many people it was time to go home- but I had so much fun we might just do it again next year. Hope you are all having a great new year! As always I posted more pictures of my travels in my web album. Love you!

I am Three Months old TODAY!

So I am finally Three Months Old- I am no longer a newborn, today I am offically an infant! I have been so busy growing and learning that I haven't found time to blog. So to make up for that I will give you a brief rundown on what I have been up to over the last few weeks.

I had my first flight ever and we went to Dallas to visit Aunt Kristie and Uncle Josh. I was a very good traveler and went to sleep as soon as the plane took off. Mommy and Daddy were so proud of me. It was so much fun in Dallas. Daddy got to live out a life long dream and see the Dallas Cowboys play on Thanksgiving. Even more exciting than that was I found out that I will be getting another cousin. We are expecting Baby Botts in early July! I can't wait!
I also got to meet my Uncle Andy for the first time. He is so much fun, he carried me all around and made funny faces and even stepped up to babysit me while everyone went out shopping. Here are a few pictures from the trip-

After we got back from Texas we only had a few days to prepare for Grami Tami's visit. I was so lucky to get to see her two weeks in a row. We had fun while she was in Pennsylvania. She read me lots of books and helped Mommy make lots of yummy food. I also got to visit Santa while Grami was it town. It was a fun visit.

After Grami left we only had one week to get ready for our next big trip to Minnesota. Mommy and I flew out all by ourselves so that we could have some extra time with Grandmeres and Grandperes. We got here on Monday and it was 9 degrees BELOW zero. That was the coldest I had ever felt but I was sure to bundle up. It is so warm and cozy and Grandma and Grandpas and I am having a great time playing with them. I got to meet my uncle Chris and my Aunt Laura for the first time and I got to see their new house. I even got to meet my Great Grandma Marcella and my Great Auntie Marcia and Uncle Dave. It has been so much fun here so far and I cannot wait until next week when my Daddy flies out and I will get to meet my cousin SoLace in person! Here are a few more pictures- As always I will add all of my pictures to my web albums-

Love to you all-

My first snow-

Hello All- quick update for you on my weekend before I head out to Dallas tomorrow for Turkey Day. It SNOWED this weekend! Apparently it isn't supposed to do that for at least another month but it snowed none the less. Mommy got me all bundled up so that I could play in it but I did not like to be out in that cold white stuff. Here are a few pictures of my adventures.

Love- Emma

Happy Thanksgiving!
